Choral Evensong is sung once a year in the Benedictine Abbey of Eibingen and also in the Alte Nikolaikirche in Frankfurt. Recent concert venues have included the Justinuskirche in Hoechst, Berlin (Wilmersdorf, Alt Tegel and Charlottenburg); Hamburg (Michaeliskirche and St. Thomas Becket Anglican Church) and Mannheim (Jesuitenkirche). Singing Christmas Carols at the Weihnachtsmarkt (Frankfurt’s Christmas market) is an annual event and a Messiah Sing-Along has been held several times in the past, attracting new faces to the parish.

Would you like to sing with the choir? Here’s how:

Either email the Director of Music, Wolfgang Weiss at choir (at) christ-the-king.net or come to a Sunday Service (11.00) and introduce yourself afterwards. You will be asked to attend two consecutive Wednesday rehearsals followed by an informal audition. Although there are experienced singers in the group who will gladly lend you a hand in regular rehearsals, some experience of choir singing would be useful. It doesn’t matter if you are not an Anglican – what counts is your commitment and love of music. The choir rehearses Sunday mornings before the service (9.45) and Wednesday evenings (19.00) in the Undercroft beneath the church.
